About Us

LYNK is a second year high school FIRST Robotic Competition (FRC) team, operating under the umbrella of the Inspire Carolina non-profit organization. We believe that FRC is a powerful program that can challenge and grow the high school students in our region, and have a positive impact on our community. We are a community-based team open to all high school students in Rutherford county North Carolina and the surrounding region. Our logo features a unique spelling of "link" as "LYNK," which is intentional. We spelled it with a Y to remind us why we do what we do:

Chimney Rock "ROCKY"

For the 2025 FIRST Robotics Competition season, we are naming our robot "Chimney Rock"—nicknamed "Rocky"—in honor of the resilience shown by our mountain communities in the wake of Hurricane Helene, which brought devastating impacts to Western North Carolina.

2025 FRC | REEFSCAPE

In REEFSCAPE presented by Haas, two competing alliances are invited to score coral, harvest algae, and attach to the barge before time runs out. Alliances earn additional rewards for meeting specific scoring thresholds and for cooperating with their opponents.

This thread is titled as a “Build Log” and not “Build Thread” or “Open Alliance.” OA is hard, we are a small team, and OA takes a lot of man power to write, manpower that we do not have. Instead, this year we are doing what we call a “Build Log” where we will write things when we have time, and as we have things to write about.
