For the 2025 FIRST Robotics Competition season, we are naming our robot "Chimney Rock"—nicknamed "Rocky"—in honor of the resilience shown by our mountain communities in the wake of Hurricane Helene, which brought devastating impacts to Western North Carolina.
In REEFSCAPE presented by Haas, two competing alliances are invited to score coral, harvest algae, and attach to the barge before time runs out. Alliances earn additional rewards for meeting specific scoring thresholds and for cooperating with their opponents.
This thread is titled as a “Build Log” and not “Build Thread” or “Open Alliance.” OA is hard, we are a small team, and OA takes a lot of man power to write, manpower that we do not have. Instead, this year we are doing what we call a “Build Log” where we will write things when we have time, and as we have things to write about.
In 2024, our team achieved an impressive overall record of 72-7-2, winning multiple events, including district championships, and earning prestigious awards such as Innovation in Control and Excellence in Engineering Award. We consistently ranked among the top teams at our events, served as alliance captains or first picks in playoffs, and advanced to the FIRST Championship and were invited Chezy Champs.
